2 Weeks into TRT, Random Fatigue

Thyroid is perfect. That was the first thing they checked, then sleep apnea and a full blood panel, then we moved to T tests.

If they didnā€™t check free t3 thatā€™s a problem. Just checked tsh? Wrong. They call 4.5tsh normal and tsh needs to be around 1.

They ran Total T, Free T, and Estrogen. Thatā€™s it. My estrogen and Free was extremely low. Total was low but not below the scale.

Free t3 is thyroid. You need to get a proper thyroid test. Again these endos and urologists have no clue what there doing when it comes to helping men with thyroid and hormonal issues. You need a trt doc.

I was in same boat with thyroid and sleep apnea @jlambert1123 . My thyroid always looks good on blood work but I may see it my doctor will run the panel because itā€™s been awhile since I had it done. I even had it scanned and everything looked normal on scan before. My sleep apnea is very mild and Iā€™m treating it with success.

Enackers That last post made my laugh and cry at the same time

I live in deep Alabama lol. No TRT doctors nearby. The one I am using is the preferred TRT ā€œSpecialistā€. Luckily he enjoys talking and spending time with his patients, he seems like he is open to new information and will probably be willing to test anything I ask. Iā€™m writting all of this down in my Patient Portal. When I go in for my next blood test in 2 weeks I will send it all to him. I want to verify that he just tested tsh but canā€™t seem to find my original labs. I do wonder if Kratom use can mess with my effects. I take a very small amount but Iā€™ve been taking it daily for a bit to keep myself functioning.

Haha ya I betā€¦ lol

It truly is sad. It took me about ten mins of research to find several docs talk about how to properly assess a thyroid patientā€¦ for fucks sakes manā€¦ do docs even join newsletters to learn new shitā€¦

I always hear itā€¦ I had it tested . Doc says itā€™s perfect. My tsh is in range 4.0ā€¦

The thyroid movementā€¦

Yes Kratom can. I know Kratom.

Check the stickies for thyroid.

Go to YouTube and search Dr. Rouzier and thyroid or dr crissler and thyroid. Youā€™ll find disturbingly convincing information and guidance for your doc. If heā€™s to listen itā€™s beczuse another doc made him. Not a patient

Iā€™m not changing anything in my protocol for 6 to 8 weeks. I wouldnā€™t add or change anything over the counter either. I donā€™t know what Kratom is but over the counter supplements can have side effects so you wont know what is what. I am only on T cypionate and thatā€™s it. Then after 6 to 8 weeks I will only make 1 change if I need to. I have been guilty of making too many changes too soon or making more than 1 change at a time. Iā€™m dealing with alot of symptoms now and itā€™s tempting to want a quick fix but there isnā€™t one. Exploring the thyroid is a good idea but itā€™s still too soon in our trt.

No thyroid needs to be checked now my later. If the thyroid is bricked you wonā€™t enjoy trt. Trt will not benefit you except for labido.

I said have it checked in my last sentence.

But itā€™s still too soon in our trt is what I was replying to. But we agree. I just think they should both be checked from the start.

What is it secondary to? That would be important information. Secondary means that it is a side effect of a different issue, which means that TRT may in fact not be the correct solution to your problem.

Secondary hypogonadism, my pituitary is the problem. No tumor. My LH and FSH were on the low side.

I have had mine checked numerous times, but wth i will ask him to run it again for shits and giggles. Maybe something changed.

Forgive me if Iā€™m repeating myself. Make sure you test the right values. Going off tsh alone is no good. You want to check your t3 conversion. How much t4 is converted to t3. Free t3 is like free t. It is what created the positive effects when the thyroids properly working.

Most docs say tsh is fine if within range, but the ranges are not true. Tsh at 1 is better, but even then your body might not be creating enough ft3.

Most endos would see a tsh of 1 and never treat the clients thyroid and instead chase the tail for a few decades. Thatā€™s why we say donā€™t use endos when it comes to thyroid and trt. There limited in scope and options. Some are great, but 90% are just not up to speed.

Some docs check t4. But they donā€™t stop and think ā€œwhat id itā€™s not converting to t3. Thatā€™s why giving a thyroid patient t4 only is stupid. Endos were told to do this in there residency/trainingā€¦ basicsā€¦ But the body still isnā€™t converting to t4. Therefore logic step is to supplement both.

Thatā€™s the limit of my knowledge and what I found when my doc explained it to me.

Itā€™s off and on. I did notice that, over this last weekend, my energy and mood has improved. It was my daughters 3rd birthday so I was at the Zoo all Friday and outside at her party all Saturday. Sunday morning I was back to my slow self but the past 2 days I have felt a little more motivated (not a major amount) but today has been really slow. Have you noticed any daily things you can do that make a difference. If I eat healthy I generally feel better during the day. Today marks the end of my 4th week on cypionate. I keep hoping to see some kind of improvement every morning but what I described above is all Iā€™ve seen. Waking up is the hardest part of my day, that hasnā€™t improved at all.

We are in the exact same boat. My sleep problem is the same to a T. Every single day is a battle to get out if bed. I thought my lifestyle was the big problem, but over the past year Iā€™ve flipped my life almost completely around with ZERO change in my sleep problems. Since taking TRT Iā€™ve gained 7 pounds and want to work out more but I will not be happy until I get my energy and sleep back. Have you noticed any changes at all since starting?

My libdio and erections are much better. I am not feeling as cold anymore. I was freezing all the time and that has improved a lot. I am like you where my energy level is my biggest complaint and I wonā€™t be happy until that improves.
