2 Versions of 5/3/1 for PL Outlined in Book?

Hi all,
So as the title says I am looking for opinions on the two versions outlined in the book.
First one: Max reps on last set and a single at TM
Second: Required reps only on last set and single or rep PR on TM (Jim Preferred Method according to the book)

I was wondering what everyone thought of them. I am leaning heavily towards the second outline personally.


Is there some reason you can’t do both? In 6 week cycles? Or is there something I’m missing…
