2 Deadlift PRs. Best Day Ever

Probably doesn’t deserve its own thread but what the heck.

Back day at the gym today, started off with deadlifts like usual.

My previous 1rm was 455lb and this was hitched up. Never pulled more than that before.

Worked up to a tripple with 315. Saving myself for the heavier sets.

Jumped up to 405 for a single. Really easy.

I was going to load the bar for 455… Then i thought fuck it. and loaded on 497.

Gripped that bar and ripped it off the ground straight to lock out. Boom!

Then i added another 11lbs.

Boom. few inches from lockout, screamed and locked that shit out. 508lbs BOOM!

I’ve been stuck at 455 for at least 6 months.

To set 2 new PRs on the same lift in the same training session is an awesome feeling.

I set a goal at the beginning of the year to hit 500lb on dead.

Been reset that to 550lb.

Finally i’m progressing.

Congrats dude, great PRs!

Cheers mate, just more motivation!

Nice one. Deadlift is definitely a lift where certain days it just “clicks” for me! My PR is 485 so hoping to join you in the 500 club once I focus back on it.

I’ll try my best!

Awesome! I’ve hitting PRs too. Now, I’m 5’5 140 and ~8% bf… with that in mind, my goal was to break 300 this year. I’ve never pushed myself beyond 285, didn’t feel I could do it. Last week I was just really feeling it and hit 305/4. I really wanted to get 6 plates, though. So, yesterday, I worked up to it and did 315/2. PRs make everything worth while!

EDIT: New goal: 350.

Did it again, but this time on bench,

Currently dieting lowish carb etc.

Was doing chest and i haven’t tested my max for a while.

Previous best was 315x4 and 326 x 1

Today i smashed 315x8 but i was only expecting to get 2-3 reps max. 6 were 6 and easy the last 2 were a grind.

Loaded the bar to 337 and hit 1.5 reps before my bro (actually brother) had to help.

That’s a great bench dude, especially while dieting!

haha i love that you threw 50+ lbs above your PR on a whim. Respect

but… 315x8 then 337x1.5? Surprising you couldn’t get more, those grinders must’ve been rough lol. I’m jealous that your gym has olympic fraction plates I must say.

in any case nice job

Cheers guys, yeah i think the 315x wiped me out, especially the last 2. leaving it for a few week,s maybe just build up to 315x1 then try a bigger jump and see where i end up.
