Dunn is one of the most fun backs to watch these days. I’d rather see him run the ball than watch Vick try to make things happen.
As for the 2 backs having 1000 yd seasons, if that does happen, what does that say about a team’s passing game? I for one wouldn’t want it.
Also, which team do you think Michael Turner is going to end up on next year? (He’s the back up for LT out here in San Diego)
B.
He will end up back in SD. It will take a team’s first and third round pick to get him away from the Chargers.
Aww man don’t say that. Turner is a nice back, he’d be starting anywhere else but here and maybe KC. Love that he’s on our team, but dude deserves to start somewhere.

Such is the life of a restricted FA. One more year and he’ll be gone, so LT should enjoy the support while he can. Honestly, I think he’ll wind up being another Lamont Jordan, unless he gets picked up by a pretty solid team. The Giants, Jets, and Steelers all come to mind, though I don’t think it will happen until '08.

I don’t think you know the value of player trades& draft picks in the NFL. Deion Branch is a former superbowl mvp and top tier wide receiver. the pats only got a 1st round pick for him. michael turner,an unproven (in terms of being a teams #1 RB) backup would certainly not garner 1st and 3rd round draft picks.

Not to the Giants: Brandon Jacobs is gonna be the man next year.
And Steelers??? Willie Parker is pretty nice right now.
Jets or Greenbay would be my guess.
Ron Dayne and Tiki came close the year they went to the SB.
Did Marcus Allen and Bo Jackson get 1000 in the same year???

I’m a Chargers fan too, and yes, Turner is going to be very good when he gets to be a starter. I don’t think he’ll still be in SD next year. I hope he’s not, because I want to see how good he’ll be when he gets his chance.

I don’t think you know how restricted free agency works. Branch wasn’t a RFA, so no team was obligated to give the Pats anything for him. With RFAs, if a team makes an acceptable offer to a player, the player’s team must choose to match the offer or let the player go, and then they are compensated by draft picks. The draft picks involved depend on the size of the offer. Turner will be demanding offers of at least $4-5 million/yr (what he would get if he waited a year until he’s an UFA), so that should translate to at least a first round pick, possibly a first and third.

Brandon Jacobs? Didn’t know about him.
Parker is ok. He’s capable of ripping off a 223 yd, franchise record-setting performance like last night. But, he’s really only putting up good numbers against shitty defenses, like CLE, CIN, and NO. Against SD, JAC, and BAL he disappeared.
The Steelers need a bruiser to bang out 4 yards at a time, not a scat back that will get thrown for a loss five plays in a row then bust one for 25. Power backs are a part of the Steelers/Bill Cowher philosophy. Without one the offense doesn’t work consistently. Turner fits the mold pretty well.
The reason I didn’t mention GB is because they aren’t exactly a “solid” team.
