1st Powerlifting Meet Results

After a 3 week trainup

Weight:73.5kg

Squat: 197.5kg

Bench: 117kg, close to that. Don’t remember exactly

DL: 185kg

Upset with my pull, wasn’t expecting to be that tired lol. I placed 2nd in the Jr division, 1st in military, and my team got 2nd. I had a blast, states is 12 weeks out. Any good programs or advice? I appreciate everything!!!

Nice work! That’s a great squat for a first meet at that weight. I’m not surprised you were tired come deadlifts. It took me four meets to finally figure out that multi-lift meets might not be where you set DL PRs.

If you’ve got 12 week, Cube seems pretty popular and works fairly well as far as I’m aware. I’ve heard good things about 5th Set For Powerlifting, but you’ll need to go to the Elite FTS site for that.

Nice work and definitely a strong squat. Did you pull heavy close to the meet?

Just a 485lb pr 10 days out. Honestly, the mistake came in my attempts. After my opener I as excited, said screw the game plan, tried to jump 60lbs. Didn’t work lol

Unless you open really low, that’s a hell of a jump. Not that opening low is a bad idea, it worked well for me last meet on the DL. But you need to plan it out.
