The reason for the low records is probably more that people compete in the most popular feds. I have the records in wnpf with something like 530/355/620. Not everyone has heard of that federation in sure. Now that you say it I was wonder if that’s the reason why there isn’t any big money tested meets. Now I wouldn’t stand a chance in the open. If I got on something and found a solid wrap for my squat style in sure id be a threat. That’s not what I want to do right now or ever. As for the deadlift record yes I do want to destroy it and I feel I have the leverages to do just that. Going 590/385/800 I could take the tested total also.
The thing is that IPL and WPC aren’t some unknown feds. USPA is the American affiliate of IPL, it just happens that USPA has the most gong on at the moment. WPC is pretty well known except that the tested division (AWPC) doesn’t attract the best lifters for whatever reason. I think that was the biggest fed a few years back when everyone was lifting in gear. I know a guy who set a deadlift world record in 100% Raw but was maybe about 3rd ranked in CPU (IPF affiliate).
All I know is that I never got tested at any CPU meet and I did one CPF meet (that’s WPC) that didn’t go well and they still got me pissing in a cup. I seriously wonder what is going on behind the scenes, USAPL almost got kicked out the IPF because of too many positive tests and now they are no longer going to automatically test people who set world records or win medals at Worlds. See how WL got threatened to get kicked out of the Olympics? They want less positive tests, one way or another.
I personally have only heard of those reds maybe one other time. If I was asked to name them I probably couldn’t. Have to remember, 6-8 years ago the sport was way less popular and almost no one lifts in gear anymore. I’m not one for fed record really. I want all times. I guess that stems from a kid I know that doesn’t lift much and weighs more than me and see every other week he’s seeing records in random feds with garbage weight for his class.

I would go for the all time records if I had a chance. The IPL and WPC affiliates are the two main options other than IPF/CPU around here, if I’m going to compete in their fed I might as well go for a record. Maybe one day I will be setting all time records but not any time too soon.
Another thing is that in WPC you can set world records at nationals, you don’t have to go to an international meet as long as everything is to the official standards.
You know until maybe 5-6 years ago the IPF didn’t even have a raw division, WPC was one of the feds that. I have only been in PL for about 4 years so I don’t know all the ancient history. The fact that raw became a thing is what got me into this, I have no interest in shirt and suits and all that. Knee wraps is where I draw the line and it took me a while to even open up to that as an option.

Normal tng bench tonight up to a heavy double. It moved so well I hit a heavy single also. I bought the black Slingshot, want to see how well that one works. I feel (weight wise) I out grew the yellow Slingshot. Bench is feeling pretty good I wouldn’t be surprised if I hit a 405 single soon. Granted I’ve been saying that for a while and it keeps being just out of reach. Will post the clip in the morning. I believe the 370 double is the heaviest double I’ve ever recorded and hit it smooth.

Bench is going awesome, squat is also doing well. Deadlift is lagging but I can still pull more than my last comp for sure so that’s a plus.

I had to skip today, somehow my buddy managed to crush my big toe as he was running by me and that shit hurt like hell. Still hurts but seems to be getting better slowly.
Getting ready for some bench today. Got a question for the guys following. I am getting a promotion at work and a good bit more money. Looking at a newer ram 2500 Cummins diesel and build it up or a newer ram 1500 and slap a supercharger on it. What do you think? Diesel all said and done would probably run $20,000 more, the gas would be just as nice and cheaper but I’m leaning more towards diesel but don’t need it.
Also I would use it for fishing and hunting so it’d probably get a few scratches. I feel like it’d hurt more on the diesel than a gas ram.
