When do you start thinking spotter for squat in training? You in a rack or open floor?

Always in a rack regardless of the weight. But normally I can tell warming up if I’m going to want someone there or not. I really don’t fail squats ever. Maybe one or two a year. At any given time i know where it’s at and if I’m pushing to the heavier side I will snag someone.

Wanted to hit a heavy Slingshot bench today. Didn’t have anyone to spot me so ended up with a heavy raw single.

The few small tweaks to squat a few months ago. (foot angle and hand placement) have made a huge difference. I’m finally hitting rep prs again and no back issues. I’m not sure what my best day was with 435 but it’s less Than what I hit it for today. and the only reason it sucked was cause I couldn’t breathe. Will edit with a video soon also will include the paused 365 bench from yesterday.

Been prepping for today. About an hour out from my heaviest deadlift attempt yet. 790. Had a shitty long work day so let’s see if I can still pull it off. Got a good movie in, sipping preworkout. about to head out soon.

Terrible day couldnt even break it off the floor. Form stayed though so I guess that’s good. Long days at work caught up to me I think. Should be back on track in about two weeks. Work will calm back down and I’ll be done my final I have soon

Next time it’s coming up man. I literally went through the exact same thing the other day (on a lighter scale ofc). Was supposed to do a double at 470, and 445 for a warmup felt like 500. Called it a night right then and there. Shit happens man just gotta get back at it next time.

It ruined the rest of my day. But yea shit happens. Once I get some free time to hit it when I want rather than around what I need to get done it’ll at least come off the floor lol

Really pissed off, probably some but from the deadlift yesterday. But today I can’t even get a spotter on bench. So same as every bench day since class started. I can’t hit heavy Slingshot, can’t do and hard bench sets and unracking bothers my shoulders not as much as flat foot benching but still notice some shit. Hit a paused 365 raw but wanted to Slingshot a heavy single. Had to drop my close grip work cause it sucks unracking close grip. I could seriously make more progress not bench pressing at all. Just a shit workout and left pissed off. End rant.

No I never believe in that for the most part. I just need to get done this big order at work so I can leave normal time and finish class. I can’t hit the gym in my own time and that screws me up

Was pretty tired after work and took a25 minute nap before hitting the gym. Squat went surprisingly well. Deadlifts moved slow though.

Hit bench today up to 350 with along pause before switching to Slingshot for a heavy single then back down for some close grip working sets.

Worked up to a paused 510 squat yesterday. Messed up what i wanted to hit today accidently did the same thing as last time on tng bench 5 sets of 4 with 310
