Going looking for shed antlers before the gym today. Hopefully that doesn’t wipe me out its a lot of walking hills. Saw this guy from the car while driving to work last week. Will probably never spot one while driving again in my life.

More for lower back strength. For when I fold over on a heavy squat I’ll still be able to muscle through it. Only experimenting right now. Found out what works on bench and deadlift for now.

Almost screwed myself doing all that walking without drinking much water before the gym. Bench was a bit harder than normal but got through it pretty good.

Way too much volume today. Pulled a big 4x4 then tried to all get my squat volume in but could not get the fifth set and called it at 4 sets of 3. Would’ve been there had i not pulled the 4x4 though.

Deadlift
135x5, 245x5, 335x5, 445x3, 535x2, 625x1, 675 for 4x4-first set with hookgrip. Only rep that sucks was the final one.

Squat
135x5, 225x5, 315x3, 405x2, 465 for 4 sets of 3

3 sets of 10 ghr and rolled out the hamstrings a bit.

Bench is still going strong. Hit close grip with no spotter after the second set and it moved nicely.

I cut out some of the clip where I did say twice don’t steal my reps. He probably was thinking I’m going to drop it in myself, it is almost 400lbs. This is why I have a handful of guys I get lift offs from they know if I don’t say anything the bar is going right back on my chest and will sit there until I do.

I stopped asking people to spot me because of shit like that. Did he tell you “it was all you” too? I hate that. Just put a bench in a power rack and unrack it yourself. Some guys seem to think that they get half the credit or something if they hold a bar with 3 plates or more on it while someone else lifts it.

I can’t Bench out of the rack. The height adjustment is inbetween where I want it. And yes after he said he didn’t even touch it.

What if you put rubber mats under the feet of the bench? I’m sure there is something you could do. I set my bench up like that at home because otherwise it slides around.

The last time I asked someone to give me a lift off in the gym was a PR attempt and it was in the power rack too, I told him I just want a lift off and not to touch the bar unless it’s sitting on the pins and I ask him to. The fucking bastard still grabbed the bar when it was halfway up and I wasn’t about to fail either. I failed a bench attempt in my first meet because of a bad liftoff, the guy basically threw the bar towards my feet and it dropped down on my waist. They picked it back up but my setup was messed up. The judge told me after that I should have told them to re-rack it and just start again, I didn’t know I could do that. Now I tell the lift off guy “just lift it off the pins and let me take it out”, haven’t had a problem since. I assume there is maybe like 2% benefit of not having to unrack it yourself even if you are used to doing it just because it will save a bit of energy.
