1800+ Raw Total And 800+ Deadlift Drug Free 181 Class

Edit: initial goal roughly achieved of 1650 at 181 with a 1692 raw with wraps at 189. Meet video on post 672. Thread changed to 1800+ raw drug free at 181 with an 800+ deadlift on 11/3/17

Alright guys I figured I’d start a log. My overall goal is going to be the New raw drug tested world record in the 181 class with sleeves. But 1650 is a shorter term goal. On feb 28 I went 1500 @ 175.75. With a 530/350/620. ill update as often as I can and try to throw in a video every week. Recently squats and bench have taken off but deadlift has not gone up much other than a 5lb pr. heres a video of today, tying my best ever double on squat and then hiting a single just 5lbs off my best.

Had sone pain in my forearm bicep area so hit some front squats today 135x10, 225x8, 295x2, 345x1, 375x1.
Then I hit some decline bench even though I knew I shouldnt. Went 135x10, 225x8, 295x6, 365x3 and hit some other lighter accessory work.

Hit back squat again today 135x10, 225x8, 315x3, 405x1, 505x3. This last week tied pretty much all of my bests so next week will be all pr’s

I wasnt sure if I should back or front squat today, I’m not hitting to gym tomorrow cause I’ll be recording a friends comp. what really made it a hard decision was, I went to bed late last night about 11 and was up at 4am fishing. Then took a nap from 8 to 11am then got ready for the gym. said the hell with it if I can hit a Back squat pr today I’ll smoke it on a good day. sets went 135x10, 225x6, 315x3, 405x1, 475x1, 530x2. This beat my best ever double by 5 lbs and tied my third attempt in squat at my comp. Hit some accessory work for back and did some heavy bench press since yesterdays bench didn’t go great. Hit 135x10, 225x8, 295(paused)x7 tying my best tng set then hit 350x3 tng for what I believe is a best triple for me.

Took a day off yesterday to record a buddies meet. So hit some squats today 135x10, 225x8, 315x3, 405x1, 485x4. Didn’t eat much yesterday or drink enough water so everything was rough. Decline bench went 135x10, 225x8, 295x5, 365x3, 395x1. And then just messing around hit a 55" box jump

Did some front squats today. 135x10, 225x8, 295x8, 355x1. And some reps on bench. 135x10, 225x5, 225x20, 315x5, 365x1, 275x9. Pulling tomorrow 525 for max reps

Hit some heavy squat today up to a best triple
135x10, 225x8, 315x3, 405x1, 510x3. At the top of the last rep on my 510 set got my first squat nose bleed

Hit some deads today. Went very well
135x10, 225x8, 315x3, 405x2, 525x10. Going to try 550-565 rep out next time

Let my nose bleed a few days get to my head. Top set today was going to be 535x2 which I should have got but I was to worried about my nose bleed I missed the second rep. This is the first rep i’ve missed on back squat is 6 months. I was pissed. I used to get bad nose bleeds as a kid I guess thats why I couldnt shake it off and push hard today.

135x10, 225x10, 295x11, 350x4, 375x2

Dialed back the intensity a bit. I was going to hit 535x2 today but failing the rep tires out my legs and I knew it wasn’t there so I worked up to 2 sets of 455x5. Going to try to go up a bit in the volume this next few weeks while I’m decreasing deaflift volume

Legs were a bit sore from the slight increase in volume yesterday on squats but felt like deadlifting today. Worked up to max reps with 565. Did pretty good considering how my legs felt and that I was out in the sun for about 6-7 hours today working on my truck. Heres a video. The sound got messed up. Also I will be strictly pulling with a deadlift bar until my competition in November.

That was hella impressive and wow… Who wears a shirt that says “OUT DEADLIFT ME AND WIN $50”? Strong people, that’s who. Has anyone challenged you yet and are you the strongest deadlifter at your gym haha?

EDIT : Rewatched the video and realized it was a sweater/pull over/whatever but seriously, who does that?

Thanks guys. And yea no one out pulls me at my gym… Yet. I’ve had two guys try, But none did it. Closest was one guy pulled 585. hes a friend of mine.

If you’re the strongest person at your gym, then you need to find a new gym.” I bet you’ve heard this at least a couple of times by now, what are your views on that? I’m guessing something along the lines of intrinsic motivation etc etc? That being said, you do have pretty big ass goals.

Ain’t no piece of cake.

Oh and note to self, get a decently good deadlift, wait till age strikes you down and travel all the way to your gym and wait till you wear that hoodie and challenge you, for $50. Oh who am I kidding haha?

Theres some heavy lfters at my gym. But really around my area ive only met one guy that pulls 700 and about 2-3 that pull low 600. thats from all the gyms I go to. And i’ve lifted at a few gyms the last two I got kicked out of cause the first one I didn’t like the staff the second I told them they needed to fix the bent bars and they canceled my membership. In my opinion as long as I can see a few other people pushing themselves they dont have to lift more than me to make me want to increase my weights. And at the moment it looks like haack and gibbs are lifting at 183. So that 181 record isn’t that high. Only about 236lb from my last total and about 180 off my recent lifts
