1800+ Raw Total And 800+ Deadlift Drug Free 181 Class

Here’s a video from bench earlier in the week, I wanted to hold off for a better benching day but started feeling shitty. Also figured I’d share a few pictures this was my first meet ( not legit fed ) but weighed in 166 the day of and totaled 1170 this was like Nov or Dec 2011. I know the total was correct and I squatted 365, benched 300 or 305 and pulled 500 or 505. The competition was in Korea.

I think in the future an 800 pound deadlift is possible. Insane strength man

Thanks I’m hoping it is, as far as I know no one has ever pulled it at 181

Not in a sanctioned drug free meet at least. Could argue that Eiseman did it back in '86. I think you really have a shot at it.

Yes he’s the only one that did lock it in comp, and I believe Micah missed it and had a suit on.

Since it was about 90 all day I decided my shoulders should be OK for some comp bench tng. Also hit some flat db press, pull ups and stretched my hamstrings a bit.

Tng bench
135x3, 155x3, 175x3, 195x3, 225x3, 255x3, 285x2, 315x1, 345x1, 375x1-moved well

Db press 3 sets
100s x22, 15, 13

Pull ups 1 set each normal, wide, close grip x10 then one set of normal grip for 15.

Over these last few weeks I’ve been hanging back a lot more often, seems to be helping with my lifts.

Did squats didn’t push it too hard on them. then some speed Deadlifts, some machine rows and hip flexor work. Deadlifts moved great I feel very comfortable going up to 545+ twice a week with no problem.

Squats (up to and including first 405 set beltless)
135x10, 225x10, 315x5, 405x5, 405x5, 405x5

Speed Deadlifts (40 sec between singles)
135x5, 225x5, 315x3, 405x3, 495x1, 545 for 6singles

Machine rows
220x20, 260x12

Came in to do some light back work, left early cause my cousins bike broke and he needed a truck but he managed to get it started.

Pull ups normal, wide, close grip 2 sets of 10 each

Barbell roww
135x10, 185x10, 235x10

A bit disappointed today, was supposed to go up north to train with a few guys one being one of the greatest 165 benchers Joe Mazza but was so tired from working last night. I just couldn’t get myself to go just to have an off workout. All I did was some slingshot bench for reps and 2 sets of incline db press. Tomorrow is looking like that 740 pull from 3" blocks.

Close grip bench
135x3, 165x3, 195x3, 225x3, 255x3, 285x3

Slingshot
335x2, 315x10-had 11-12 but spotter left which is why I brought the weight down for reps.

Incline db press
90s x18, 13

The weight is starting to get intimidating, I’ve been good not to think about it but it’s hard when I start with 100s instead of all 45s and have to actually calculate it out. I start realizing how much is actually on there. Had to switch to 100 Lb plates cause I’m starting to run out of room and trying to fit a 10, 5, 2.5 on the end after 7 plates I might be impossible with those 45s

Well worked block pulls up to 740 from 3" blocks. I’ll let you guys give me your opinions I’ll post a video probably tomorrow. I have my opinion on it but want to get some others. Some of my buddy’s have me about on the first single (they always do so don’t know if they were just messing with me) so I pulled a second single. There was downward travel just looking foyer opinion on lock out and whether I should consider it a training Max. Followed it up with paused squats some machine rows, pull ups and hip flexor work.

Block pull 3"
135x8, 225x6, 315x3, 405x3, 495x2, 585x2, 675x1, 740x1, 740x1

Paused squat (breathing aside from 455, belt on at 405)
135x8, 225x5, 315x3, 365x3, 405x3, 455x1

Machine row
220x20, 200x20

Pull ups set of 10 each normal, wide, close grip.

The second attempt reached full extension imo. Momentarily, but it was there. Great work, I’m enjoying following along.

I agree. Looks like that’s what you screenshotted. Watching the video in at 0.25 speed while listening to My Heart Will Go On in the background is inspiring

Great job on the pull man!!

I’ve watched the video a couple of times and I just can’t decide whether the bar just stopped, or there was a slight downward movement just before lockout on the second rep.

Going by the side view I’m leaning more towards that there was with how your shoulders seem to rock back and forewards slightly.

Yeah, there is a slight dip, originating from what seems to be the upper back collapsing a bit. Still a fantastic effort to get that lockout!

Thanks guys, yea it wasn’t clean by any means but thought it would count for a gym lift. Figured I’d get some opinions on it before I call it that. Think I need to point my toes out a bit more. The weight did not feel too heavy coming up surprisingly. I’ve noticed its harder to get in position on block pulls cause I can’t tell if I’m too far from the bar or not until I begin the pull.

I would count it. It’s not like you’re saying it passed in a meet. I’ve seen way worse gym pr’s that people have counted in the past. Good work dude. #TeamCoanIsGone
