1800+ Raw Total And 800+ Deadlift Drug Free 181 Class

Pulled against bands to a max today. Was very with the number. Worked up to 620 straight weight band tension was 40 more lbs off the floor so 660 and 730 at lockout. Pulled smooth through but definitely didn’t have anything left. Then hit some high bar squats a few sets, some light machine rows, pull ups, and some ghr. I’ll be posting a video of the deads and squats tomorrow.

I’ve decided to adjust my bench portion of the program and am completely changing the form on it. Getting help from one of the better benchers in the gym. So progress on that will be down for a while but should be better in the long run. My shoulder didn’t hurt at all today benching the new way unfortunately I couldn’t go over 315 for a paused double without new form going to shit. So well see how that goes. Other than that I hit some back and just two sets of do press Max reps

Bench (all weight for paused doubles)
135,155,175,195,215,235,255,275,295,315.

Barbell rows
135x10, 205x10, 255x10, 305x6

Db press
90s x 22, x20

Machine rows up to whole stack for 10.

Sick today for the first time in literally 16months. I’ve been counting. Not bad should be OK tomorrow. The trick is eating things off the floor occasionally.

Ever do any surf fishing?

Curious about this new bench form man, any vids going up to YT or you waiting until your comfortable with it?

No I only fish fresh water for the most part. I have fished from the surf and out on a boat in the ocean and it’s not my thing. My opinion too hard to target certain species. All I catch are sharks.

Not yet. I want to get it figured out first. My bench took a dive but didn’t have any shoulder pain. Grip has been brought in a bit more as well. I may never be a great Bencher but we’ll see how this goes.

Ok bud, I’ll keep an eye out though for when 1 goes up!

Thats good though matey, take a step back with the weight, that’ll come back as you get comfortable with the changes! The no pain is the important bit!!

I’m still getting a little pain but its only on Incline movements, so I’m not sure if its delt or something RC related… seeing my sports masseur next week when I’m home though and he’s pretty good at workin that stuff out!

I cut incline barbell out completely and use dumbbells since it let’s the shoulder move more freely. I will be doing a lot of db pressing to keep my strength up

Sadly its the DBs that cause me issues, nothing terrible but sometimes I do have to skip them. If something hurts, I’m not a fan of just pushing through the pain!

That’s odd dbs are the only pressing that’s never given me problems

Did only what I had to and left. Still don’t feel that great. Crappy part was it was speed work squats and deads. Have myself a minute between sets on squats cause I was drained before I even got there. Deadlifts I still did about 40 seconds but and these moved alright for being as dead as I was.

Squats
135x10, 225x6, 315x3, 385x1, 435 for 8 sets of 2

Deads
135x6, 225x6, 315x3, 405x3, 515 for 6 singles.

Really struggling to hold body weight. When I first got sick I didn’t think it’d be bad at all. It’s horrible, my throat hurts so bad I can hardly eat or drink. It’s the worst trying to sleep I wake up after an hour or two coughing like crazy. It’s 1am and I’m probably going to be up for a few hours now. I went to the Dr’s yesterday and they have me a few things and checked for strep which I didn’t have. And to add to it mid day yesterday my left ear kind of clogged up over about 2 hours so I can’t hear Shit out of it.

Being sick sucks. It’s never 3 days anymore, more like 10. Just have to get through it. Never helps training hard, especially the weights you move. Big toll on recovery.

Might be best to give yourself a few days. Take some walks outside, pound zinc, water, and work on mobility.

Feel better.

Yea. Haven’t been in since Friday. Finally starting to feel a bit better today might take off from work tomorrow. Strength probably took a little hit

First squat and deads after being sick. Speed work that moved stupidly slow. Added in some conventional pulls because I haven’t done them in almost a year and feel my lower back needs more work to help my squat since I’m a GM type squatter.

Squats
135x10, 225x8, 315x3, 405x3, 465 for 6 sets of 2 about 60 seconds between sets

Deads
135x6, 225x5, 315x3, 405x3, 515 for 6 singles about 40 seconds between sets

Conventional deads
135x8, 225x8, 315x8, 365x5, 405 for 3sets of 5

First day back at a max effort lift. Was scheduled for high bar squat the week I got sick goal was 495-500. After the week off I figured I’d Max it but just shoot to do better than the last time but didn’t think I could go what I planned. Also working against me I got burned to shit on Easter so I literally had to use that stupid pad thing, my skin felt like it was tearing off. Managed a 5lb best which I’ll gladly take.

High bar squat
135x8, 225x8, 315x5, 405x1, 455x1, 485x1, 390 for 3 sets of 5

Stiff bar deficit. 35lb plates
115x6, 185x6, 255x5, 325x5, 395x3, 465x3, 535x5, 565x3

Barbell row
135x10, 205x20

Finished with some machine rows.

Decline bench
135x8, 185x8, 225x5, 275x5, 315x4

Barbell row

Bench press
135x8,185x4 235x4, 285x4, 325x1, 285x4
