1300 Total Before College

Never made a log before but it’s here and free so why not. I’m 18, 5’10", and 185 pounds. Will be competing at 181 on July 26. The 1300 total is a stretch but why not lol

Goal lifts are 455 squat, 305 bench, and a 545 deadlift. Currently at 425 squat, 275 bench, 495 deadlift. Following a squat program given to me by my former shot-put coach. Maxing deadlifts every other thursday and doing box squats on the others (or if I don’t pr deadlifts). And doing two bench days, one with competion style bench work and another with assistance work.

Wow, we are the same age, height, and weight, and yet your stats kills mine. I have lifted for almost one year, and my total is around 850. Seeing someone with the exact background as me lifting so much is pretty inspirational. Good luck with 1300 man!

Thanks man, only 18 but been powerlifting for about 2.5 years. Everybody starts somewhere, keep on killing it in the gym and good things will follow!

I am very surprised my paused numbers are so good compared to my normal numbers with just commands. Admittedly I may have cheated a bit with my three counts as the weights got heavier but it was still a considerably longer hold than I generally do. I’m attributing this to my floor presses as I think they’re helping me learn to keep my upper body (mainly my lats) tight in the bottom. Overall good day, felt fully recovered from monday and tuesday and am looking forward to squatting again tomorrow and shooting for a new max bench of 300 on saturday.
