1 Year of Lifting Progress

Before

Started lifting about a year ago, screwed around for three or four months, and then started powerlifting and actually being productive. Got up to 165 (from a starting weight of about 120) but then decided to train for a triathlon and lost 15 pounds. Right now I’m back to lifting and my weight is back up to 157. My first PL meet will be June 9th. Not concerned about my physique/aesthetics, but figured I’d share pics just because I think its interesting how much my body has changed. Still don’t look like I lift, but that’s totally okay by me as long as I’m getting stronger. Btw I’m 5’6 (inb4 manlet status).

What you don’t like my posing face?

Lol @ the face. Where’s the meet June 9th? Is that the Denver, NC one?

Yezzir. If you’re going then you’ll get to see me lifting like the piece of shit that I am. You’ll walk up to me and be like, “Hi RonSwanson, I’m Wolfpacker27.” Then you’ll ask me what my first attempt will be on the squat. When I tell you 250, you’ll laugh scornfully and throw small objects at me every time I’m on the lifting platform.

given where you started, I’d say that’s some serious progress for a year. I was 125-130 when I started lifting, 5’10, so pretty similar starting point.

dafuq is with the first picture… nice progress though

Lol. It’s great that you’re doing it man, regardless of the weights you’re lifting. Idk your age, but I’d guess I’m 20 years older than you, and I’m 50 lbs heavier and not a whole lot stronger. I’ve only been back lifting for 4 months, after 15 years doing a lot of nothing. I’ll be there in June cheering you on, and hopefully by the next NC meet I’ll be competing too. Good luck!

Your face makes you look constipated man…otherwise nice work

I hope somebody from your school finds this thread and posts pictures of you all over the school.
